Mystic Outdoor Art Festival
The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival stands as a beloved tradition in southeastern Connecticut. Each August, artists and visitors fill the streets of downtown Mystic, creating a lively and colorful community event. The 2025 festival, scheduled for August 9 and 10, will showcase nearly 270 artists from across the country. Art enthusiasts and families can expect to see a wide variety of styles and mediums: painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, jewelry, and more line over a mile of exhibition space along the Mystic River and through the shipyard at Mystic Seaport Museum.
The festival is free and open to the public. It draws locals and visitors from all over New England. Children’s activities, art installations, and a performing arts stage offer fun for every age group. The Performing Arts Stage sits in Mystic River Park, providing music and dance throughout the weekend. Parking is plentiful, with both paid and free options close to the event route.

Rosalie Walsh
Among the standout artists this year is Rosalie Walsh, occupying Booth S4 in the festival’s jewelry section. Walsh, based in Mystic, is celebrated for her coastal-inspired fine jewelry. Each piece reflects the essence of the shoreline—organic textures, gentle forms, and sea-themed motifs weave through her collections. Her work resonates with visitors seeking to take home a memory of Mystic or a unique, wearable piece of art.
Rosalie Walsh has received accolades for her craft. In 2024, she was awarded Best Work by a Local Artist at the festival, demonstrating her skill and distinctive vision. Visitors can find Walsh’s booth easily and may have the chance to meet and chat with the artist about her creative process.
The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival is perfect for collectors, browsers, and fans of handmade design. It’s a chance to stroll, discover something new, and connect with creative talent from both near and far. Be sure to visit Booth S4 and experience the artistry of Rosalie Walsh firsthand. You might leave with a one-of-a-kind treasure inspired by the sea.
